Hi, I'm Skyler Grandel, an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. In fall 2026, I teach:

About Me
My research interests include AI for Software Engineering, Human Factors in Software Engineering, Human Factors in Cybersecurity, LLMs and Generative AI, and Software Engineering Education and Training.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in August 2026 from Vanderbilt University, where I was advised by my great mentor, Dr. Kevin Leach. You can view other people whom I have worked with on the "People" tab above. I recieved a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, where I was also a grader and AV assistant. My undergraduate research focused on remote mental health applications for young students recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. In my professional experience, I have further worked as an IT and Cybersecurity Intern for CarTech US.
